JAFZA, the Jebel Ali trade zone specializes in industry, trade & logistics, covering every mode of transportation, which commenced its operations in 1985 and is the world's largest Free Trade Zone.

With 19 companies in the beginning to 500 by 1995 now house more than 7000 including various Fortune Global 500 names. The trade zone easily contributes roughly 21% of GDP and 32% of FDI flow in Dubai every year.

By volume- food, Beverages & agricultural commodities are among the top traded items in the free zone.

More specifically in 2017 trade volume of 3.5 million metric tons was recorded mostly coming from fruit, vegetable & grains as it is connecting agriculture sector to more than 2.5 Billion consumers in the Middle East, Africa, South East Asia, and CIS states and is likely to spread over 1.85 million square meters by 2021 just for the agri part.

In the overall zone for the agriculture sector over 39% of companies are from the middle east, 22% from Asia, 19% from Europe & 8% are from North America.
